A professional recording makes all the difference
A Spanish voice artist with his own professional recording studio is not just someone with a USB microphone plugged into a computer. A proper recording studio is an environment where every detail is designed to capture sound in its purest form. Since 2024 I’ve been working from Barcelona in a studio built to my exact needs:
I was lucky enough to find premises that used to be the headquarters of a bank, which means the walls are reinforced and half a metre thick. Absolute silence reigns inside. The studio has two fully independent rooms, one for voice recording and one for editing, both acoustically treated, so I can comfortably deliver voice overs ready for training videos, television, large screen projections or video mapping. All the internal partitions in both rooms are built with double walls, panelled inside with Copopren+ in a sandwich structure for greater insulation.
The booth I record from is fully covered, walls and ceiling, with rock wool panels, and the whole structure is built in natural wood to guarantee perfect acoustics. Access is through a double door, one in aluminium and glass plus a second one made of soundproofing panels, isolating the room from the outside and preventing the voice from reverberating against the glass. All of this guarantees crystal clear recordings, with no echoes or interference, perfect for any project: a commercial, a corporate voice over or a dubbing session.
Versatility is another key pillar: my studio is ready for quick recordings or marathon sessions, and with tools like Source-Connect I can work in real time with clients anywhere in the world, from Barcelona to Hollywood. With small adjustments I can add extra microphones for joint recording sessions with other voice artists, or even adapt the room to record podcasts with guests. All in a comfortable space that lets me give my best. And one little secret… I have an amazing bonus room: the bank’s old vault. Would you like to visit it?

As with most of us who offer voice over services from our own studio, both my equipment and my working environment have clearly evolved towards professionalisation over time. Let me take you on a photographic journey through the transformation of my recording studio over the years.
Well… yes, maybe I’m exaggerating. It wasn’t such a disaster at the beginning… but almost! I started with a small USB mixing desk, two basic microphones and a few small acoustic panels. That was my first studio, designed to record segments I would then take to the radio station ready to air. Later I bought a better mixing desk and a Sennheiser MD 441 U microphone, and rearranged the space to make recording more comfortable.
As time went by, I decided to go professional: I bought a DEMVOX ECO 100 recording booth, together with a Neumann TLM 103 microphone, a Focusrite ISA One preamp and an Apogee Duet audio interface. For many years I delivered my voice over services with that setup.
Finally, I had the chance to adapt premises entirely to my needs, to work in a much more comfortable way, in a larger space and in a 100% acoustically controlled environment. And that’s where I offer my services as a voice artist with his own recording studio today.
